About the Project

Omastyle Collection is my own skincare brand. It sells physical skincare products, offers paid consultations, and sells digital guides. I built this website myself, from strategy to copy to development, in two days.

This was not a demo project or a portfolio exercise. It is a real business I am running, and I built it the same way I build for clients: with a clear strategy, a defined audience, and a reason behind every decision.

03

The Problem I Was Solving

Most skincare websites do one thing. They show products and ask you to buy. That model has a gap. The people most likely to buy skincare products, especially in Nigeria, are also the people most likely to be confused about what their skin actually needs.

They have bought the wrong products before. They have followed advice that did not work for their skin type. They are cautious.

A website that only sells does nothing to close that gap. It just adds another option to an already overwhelming market.

The question I designed around was this: what does someone need to understand before they are ready to buy skincare? And can a website give them that?

04

Strategy

The architecture of the site is built on one principle: educate first, sell second.

Every feature on the site exists because it removes a specific barrier between a potential customer and a confident purchase. The skin type quiz helps someone understand what their skin actually needs before they look at a single product. The routines section shows them what a real skincare practice looks like for their skin type. The ingredients checker lets them verify what is in a product before they trust it. The skin emergency guide is there for the moments when something goes wrong and they need an answer fast.

By the time someone reaches the product or consultation section, they are not guessing. They have already been helped. That shift, from anxious browser to informed buyer, is the conversion strategy.

05

What the Site Includes

  • Skin Type Quiz. An interactive quiz that helps visitors identify their skin type and understand what it means for their skincare choices. Built to replace the guesswork that causes most people to buy the wrong products.
  • Skincare Routines by Skin Type. Morning and evening routine guidance written for each skin type. Not generic advice. Specific, sequenced, and actionable.
  • Consultation Booking. Visitors can book a paid one-on-one consultation to ask questions specific to their skin. This turns the website into a direct revenue channel beyond product sales.
  • Wellness and Lifestyle Guidance. Skincare does not happen in isolation. This section covers what to eat, what to avoid, and lifestyle habits that affect skin health. Most skincare brands ignore this entirely.
  • Budget Skincare Routines. A full routine does not require expensive products. This section was built specifically for people who want real results without an unrealistic budget.
  • Severe Skin Issues. A dedicated section for people dealing with persistent skin conditions, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, and similar concerns that standard routines do not address.
  • Ingredients Checker. A tool that lets visitors look up skincare ingredients and understand what they do, whether they are safe, and what to watch out for. Built for the customer who reads labels but does not always understand them.
  • Skin Emergency Guide. Practical guidance for acute skin reactions, breakouts, and unexpected flare-ups. This section exists because people need help in the moment, not just when they are browsing.
  • Founder Story. The brand is personal. The story section introduces who I am, why I built this, and why that matters for the products and advice I stand behind.
  • Digital Guides. Downloadable paid guides covering specific skincare topics in depth, available directly through the site.

Design Decisions

The site needed to feel trustworthy before it felt commercial. That shaped every visual and content decision.

Information is presented in a clear, calm hierarchy. Educational content comes first on every page that combines guidance and products. The tone throughout is direct and knowledgeable without being clinical or intimidating. I wrote every line of copy myself with the same voice I use when I advise someone in person.

The consultation booking flow is simple and friction-free. The fewer steps between interest and booking, the better the conversion rate. I kept it to the minimum number of fields needed to prepare for the session.

The skin quiz was designed to be genuinely useful, not just a lead capture mechanism with a result at the end. The outcome gives the visitor real information they can act on whether they buy from Omastyle or not. That is intentional. Trust is built by being useful without conditions.

07

Technical Implementation

Built entirely on Replit in two days. Claude handled all copy writing and content strategy support. Notion was used for planning the content architecture and mapping out every section before a line of code was written.

The site is structured for future migration. When the domain and hosting are upgraded, the content architecture, the quiz logic, the booking flow, and the guides library all move with it without a rebuild.

08

Challenges and Solutions

Challenge Solution
Building something educational without it feeling like a blog Structured every feature as a tool, not an article. The quiz, the checker, the emergency guide all require interaction, not passive reading
Covering multiple skin concerns without overwhelming the visitor Clear section separation and a quiz entry point that routes people toward what is relevant to them
Positioning consultations as worth paying for The depth of free content establishes expertise first. By the time someone sees the consultation offer, they already trust the knowledge behind it
Building a full brand website alone in two days Planned the entire content architecture in Notion before opening Replit. Every section was defined before any code was written
09

Results

A fully functional skincare brand website built and launched in two days, covering three revenue streams: physical products, paid consultations, and digital guides.

The site gives Omastyle Collection something most skincare brands in this market do not have: a genuine reason for a visitor to stay, learn, and come back. The education layer creates return visits. The tools create trust. The consultation booking creates direct revenue independent of product sales.

10

Future Opportunities

  • Custom domain and migration from Replit to Netlify
  • Google Gemini powered face scan tool for personalised skin analysis
  • Expanded digital guides library
  • Email list integration with a skin type specific welcome sequence
  • Analytics and conversion tracking across all three revenue streams
  • Community or membership layer for ongoing skincare support

Final Reflection

I built Omastyle Collection because I know what it is like to stand in front of a shelf of skincare products and have no idea what your skin actually needs. That experience is the whole brief.

The site is not finished in the sense that no real business ever is. But it is live, it is functional, and it already does something most skincare websites in Nigeria do not do: it treats the customer as someone who deserves to understand their own skin, not just someone to convert.

Two days to build. A much longer time to understand the problem well enough to know what to build.

That gap is where the real work happened.
